This is the 7th Grade Roots Blog.
After each episode of Roots that we watch in class, you will be assigned one of the characters from that episode. You will leave a comment on this blog written from the point of view of that character.
(If you are assigned the character of one of the sailors on the slave ship, for instance, write about something that happened in the episode from the point of view of that sailor. His attitudes about what he saw onboard the ship would be very different from the attitude of the Captain or the slaves.)
Each episode of Roots will have its own blog entry with a synopsis (summary) of what happened in that episode. Leave your comments in the Comments Section for that episode.
Your comments for each episode must:
- be school appropriate.
- include the name or a description of your character
- include YOUR first name and last initial, plus your hour (example – BorisR, hour 3)
- be 250-1,000 words long (1/2 – 1 good page)
- have good spelling and grammar
- be written from the point of view of your character
To add your comment, click on the link at the top of the page that mentions comments and follow the instructions. You will be asked to copy a password to make sure that you are a person, not a spambot.
Your comments will be viewable by your parents, teachers and other old, nagging people, so it is in your best interest to do as good a job as possible on this.
(If all else fails and for whatever reason, you just can’t seem to submit your blog entry, you can email it to me at (rjepma@wm.k12.mn.us)
